Canon Point: After his death.

Personality: Eddie Gluskin is a man who comes in two different flavors - although to think one is better than the other would be wrong. To his victims, both of Eddie's sides are equally dangerous, and Eddie's victims are impressively numerous. (Still, it's important to maintain that these are just sides of Eddie's character - he's dual-natured, but he doesn't have separate personalities.)
It's hard to know what Eddie was like before his time at Mount Massive Asylum, as there's very little information about it. We know he was sexually abused as a child by his father and uncle, and these incidents were incredibly traumatic. Although Eddie is aware of these incidents, he prefers instead to remember his childhood as idealistic and "Leave It to Beaver"-esque, and wants this kind of lifestyle for his own children. In fact, because of Eddie's abuse, he is obsessed with the idea of having his own family and doing right by them, but unfortunately, he does not have the ability to do this. Eddie was put in Mount Massive Asylum presumably after being declared criminally insane for killing and mutilating numerous women he'd tried to make into his wife.
All of this would make Eddie unstable enough, but in the asylum, Eddie was chosen as a candidate for the Walrider Program (an experimental program aiming to turn inmates into the host of a highly dangerous creature called the walrider for potential military application). At first, Eddie was forthcoming, cooperative, and even charming with his doctors, although the information he'd give them was, more often than not, false. Eddie refused to discuss his previous victims and, when shown pictures of them, would not admit or recognize that they were dead or mutilated - but he loved to discuss his progress in the Walrider Program, and would often lie and claim that he had achieved a deeper bond with the walrider than was true. This lie did not go unnoticed by his doctors. This shows that, when faced with a situation he can hope to benefit from, Eddie will make attempts to lie to make himself look better - but he isn't very good at it. Although Eddie is certainly manipulative, he's far from being a master manipulator, and is often easily seen through by others.
However, Eddie changed after being subjected to certain therapy experiments within the program. Although he'd previously been cooperative and forthcoming with the experiments, when they involved forcing Eddie into a chamber with tubes down his throat, he suddenly became agitated and flew into a violent panic, just as he had when confronted about unpleasant facts about his past abuse. Eddie is a man who reacts violently and aggressively when things don't go his way, and will sometimes even scream for help or beg a nearby person he (falsely) sees as being able to help him. These therapy sessions made Eddie more unhinged and delusional than he'd been before.
After the asylum staff loses control and its patients are released, Eddie's first priority is to get to work creating a home for himself and his future family in the unused Female Ward. Whatever situation Eddie is thrown into, he will always come to this solution first and begin the search for his bride to start his family. Eddie doesn't care what circumstances are around him, he will make the best with what he can to create what he sees as a gentle and loving home, and will pursue anyone he comes into contact with relentlessly, immediately seeing her (or him) as his potential new bride. Eddie sees no reason to really get to know anyone before marriage, as anyone he runs into must have been fated to be the one for him. His delusions run so deep that he cannot fathom the possibility that people may not want to be with him, and it will take him a very long time to ultimately come to this conclusion (but even so, he's more likely to attribute someone's persistent running or refusal to mean they've given up on love in general or even that they've betrayed him than to believe they're terrified or don't love him). Eddie will even marry a man and fully believes they can carry his children and build a family with him, as long as they undergo an operation at his (incredibly unskilled) hands to remove their "obscenities" (penis) and have some kind of vaginal-like hole cut into them. Unfortunately, none of his prospective male brides survive this operation, and Eddie is continuously let down, but never discouraged for very long. He sees his failures as ugly "whores" (showing a very nasty side of misogyny), and is certain he'll find his true bride eventually. When chasing whomever is his current target, Eddie talks constantly, reassuring his love that he only has the best intentions, wants to make a "proper woman" of them, details his family plans, and calls them "darling" repeatedly. At times when the victim will continue to run or hide, however, Eddie's anger is triggered, and he'll turn to shouting angrily almost immediately - but soon enough, he'll apologize, hopping back and forth between both.
However, there is still something darker lurking in Eddie alongside his obsessive need to have a family. He sees nothing wrong with mutilating his victims, and will violently kill someone he considered his "darling" only moments later if they anger him. At the entrance of his "house" in the Female Ward, as if trying to create a nice statue, Eddie made a tableau of murdered male prisoners he'd surgically altered to look like a mother giving birth, complete with an adult male head poking out of a badly-cut hole between the mother's legs. Eddie sees this as a representation of the realization of his goals, and seems to not understand how this could be horrifying to anyone - only mere feet away, he's working on his future wife's wedding dress, drawing up plans and even beginning to sew some dresses together using what is probably hospital linens. While there is a part of Eddie that seems to sincerely desire a family and an idealized life, he would never be able to achieve this goal because of the murderous and violent instincts inside of him. However, he also shows occasionally that he is capable of playing the part of the doting and loving husband, and puts massive amounts of detail and planning into his future wedding - although he can't maintain this facade for very long.
5-10 Key Character Traits: Unstable, obsessive, devoted, delusional, manipulative, dual-natured, violent, idealistic
Would you prefer a monster that FITS your character’s personality, CONFLICTS with it, or EITHER? Either!
Opt-Outs: Werewolf, Kelpie, Troll, Arachne, Goblin
Roleplay Sample: When Eddie opened his eyes, he wasn't entirely sure where he was.
His first move was to sit up in bed, quickly, despite his body's aching protests. He hurt everywhere, and there was a disquieting buzz in the back of his head that fuzzed his thoughts and made it hard to figure out... well, much of anything really.
The last thing he could remember was that whore - the one who was supposed to be different from the others, who was supposed to be special - had been trying to run from his punishment. There'd been a struggle. He'd been...
Well, it was hard to remember now. Eddie let out a sigh, slowly curtailing the anger that had been building inside of him. No, no, he'd been harsh. Too harsh. Of course she'd been scared! After all, there were so many new things coming at him-- her all at once... and then an intruder had come into their home in the middle of such a delicate moment, and she'd panicked. That was natural. He couldn't count on a woman (or a soon-to-be-woman) to be rational and stand her ground in a situation like that!
He cursed himself, shifted against the bed, and looked around. He needed to get back home and gather his emotions. Perhaps his darling would even be waiting there for him, like he had been in the beginning!
Of course she would be. After all, he'd said it himself - she was different from the others.
All he needed to do now was figure out where he was. This place looked different from the rest of the asylum, but it was still similar in some ways. A hospital bed, a flimsy mattress, poor lighting - it seemed similar, but there was something off, too.
In that moment, it felt a little like there was something off inside of him, as well - but Eddie didn't examine that feeling too long. He shelved it, buried it, put it back somewhere in a dark corner of his mind, and did it all without even being very aware it was happening.
Standing and dusting his pants off, Eddie smiled, beginning to hum, and stepped away from his bed and into the hospital hallway. There were certainly lovely things in store for him here! He just had to seek them out.

REVISED SAMPLE
There's really quite a bit still left to be done at home, of course. He hasn't finalized a wedding dress or a design - although it can be hard to think about that at times when there's no bride in sight to wear one. All of the guests are already (dead) in their seats in the chapel, and he keeping them waiting because the ceremony is nowhere near ready to begin...
Well, he has to be patient. His darling showing up he can't control - he's loathe to go out and search right now fresh on the heels of his last disappointing failure. For now, he'll focus on what he can control, and that's preparing a beautiful dress for his future bride.
Ah, but he's used the last of the thread. He'll have to scavenge more from the sewing machines just outside his front door. As Eddie approaches his radio, stationed just outside his "home's" front door, the music he'd been playing grows louder and he nears the beautiful sculpture he'd made-- when? Well, it seems like a lifetime ago, now.
Eddie strides past it, sees a long shadow being cast on the ground just opposite his bright lights (meant to illuminate his art), and suddenly perks up. Is someone there? Here, right at their front door?
"Darling?" he asks. He can't be certain, he hasn't seen her. He sniffs the air as if trying to smell his new bride out, a smile breaking out across his face in anticipation. "Is that you?"
It's quiet for a moment, still - and then the shadow becomes a form, a person, and they peek out from their hiding spot crouched on the floor, peering past the corner of the sheet-turned-wall Eddie had hung up. It's a man, his face gaunt and hallow with the things he's seen before reaching Eddie's front door. Unfortunately, his eyes hit the sculpture Eddie's taken so much pride in - a horrific, mutilated tableau meant to picture the moment of birth.
Eddie catches sight of his new bride in the bright light and his smile only grows wider. The fact that the man's face is twisted in a look of disgusted horror doesn't bother Eddie one little bit - he sees it, but he doesn't really process it, or at least doesn't process it for what it really is.
But why is she crouching there on the ground? A show of submission? It's charmingly modest, but completely unnecessary - at least for now.
"Darling, come here--" He reaches down to seize the man's jacket collar, hoping to bring him to his feet. "Let me look at you."
